Artists use work as metaphors for understanding socio-economic issues such as international trade and global sourcing. My artist's statement: Forget what I told you and follow me. Although "La Bicyclette" is stolen, it has a nostalgia for a better time that really never had been. Question appearances!

This image of a French sidewalk, "La Bicyclette" is a charming depiction of old-time France. The wet cobblestones speak of a recent shower of rain, yet still a solitary table and chair are set outside the small bistro. Leaning against the white wall stands a brand new bicycle, its sparkling new paint in stark contrast to the shabby surroundings, yet the scruffiness just makes you yearn to visit this place out of time even more. You may not be able to visit this intriguing street, but you can still enjoy this lovely lane at home.
